Singapore: Sing for the moment, Dec. 2012

Happy new year and あけおめ!

We just flew back from Singapore last week, which was a nice escape from frigid Japan for 2 weeks. I got in some triathlon training and we saw numerous sights. This was my longest stay ever in Singapore, and I took advantage of our luxurious surroundings to get in several swim and run sessions.
In total, I did 5 runs and 4 swims in 13 days. (not including the one with Ty below)

We retouched with many ex-Japan friends. These are Hiroko's kids:

Back view of city from Sentosa...

Singapore Straits view..

Poolio...

Dipping...

Hanging out at Vivocity mall...

This is Julie and her hubby Jochen, sipping on Singapore sling-type cocktails. They are globetrotters. Last time we met in Scotland...

We visited a planetarium, aquarium, bird sanctuary, beaches, etc....Ty took us on a walking tour of Marina Bay....

Holy Planetariums!

We like Oxygen!

Sing by night...

All you need is a dollar and a dream...

Hugs! 抱っこしてね!
 Ready for the birds...
 There they are...

Right in your faces...

I get the idea...

Back to basics at the beach, Sentosa..

Ty terrorizing Vulchy on the terrace.....

It was great to see fellow nanbanners Leng Leng, Arnaud, and Stuart. This is me with Leng, Arnaud, David Stevensen at the Wine company after the track workout. Those guys are really keen on the paleolithic diet, or caveman's meal. The diet is based on the presumed ancient diet of wild plants and animals that various hominid species habitually consumed during the paleolithic era (from 2 million years ago that ended about 10,000 years ago when humans began mass production of food crops). The "contemporary" Paleolithic diet consists mainly of fish, grass-fed pasture raised meats, vegetables, fruit, fungi, roots, nuts, and excludes grains, legumes, dairy products, potatoes, refined salt, refined sugar, and processed oils.
It is similar to Bob's high-fat diet I suppose. Well, David had a good running year and Arnaud was in good form so maybe there is something to it...

This is Leng, Meg, and Ty pictured below after a 14k run around Sentosa. Leng and Meg are not doing the paleo diet, needless to say...

All the best in 2013. 今年もよろしく。
