Hokkaido, it's Viewtiful!

1 month in Tohoku/Hokkaido is done and dusted. 

北の国から来ました！北海道と東北のテレワック夏休みは英語の下。。

After a scenic drive up the Pacific coast of Tohoku, the Ty-kun and Motozo continued the journey by car ferry into Viewtiful Hokkaido, our old love.

First order of business was the Olympic marathons. We linked up with Meg and Lina in Sapporo and made a beeline for the marathon course. 

It was a tremendous feeling to see the legendary runners up close, and especially inspiring to watch them thrive in the unexpected 30 degree C heat. Respect!

Next up was Furano, or 

Gunma  

Next up was Furano, or "foul-smelling place" in Ainu, although the aroma was quite the contrary, rather sweet, fresh scented, and colorful! Those Ainu must have been smoking something foul-smelling...Furano finally heeded to our many failed attempts to visit the Lavender fields and Blue Pond during previous summer Hokkaido trips. And it was worth the wait! Finally, it felt like we were in the northern country! In Furano, we were hosted by the famous Evans couple on the running trails and BBQ sites, and their hospitality was top class. Thanks to Rika-san and Gareth! Great to see Tokyo friends Natasha and Morioka there too.

After 1 week of driving through Tohoku, Ty and I continued to Hokkaido and made a beeline for the Sapporo olympic marathons. We linked up with Meg and Lina in Sapporo. It was a tremendous feeling to see the legendary marathon runners up close, especially in the scorching 30 degree C heat. Respect! On our way back to Niseko, we checked out Shakotan Peninsula...

Niseko again was the climax for us, 9 days in paradise. Great to catch up with the triathlon crew in Niseko and climb Mt. Yotei for the 2nd time with Meg.

夏のワーク休みについて。。。

東北、北海道で１ヶ月間のアドベンチャーが終わりました。

東北の太平洋海岸を１週間ほど景色を楽しみながらドライブした後、タイ君と僕はカーフエリで大好きなビューティフル北海度への旅を続けました。札幌の千歳空港に恵とリナちゃんを迎えに行き、週末のオリンピックマラソンを楽しんだ。伝説なランナーを目の前で見るのは凄く嬉しかったです。特に、予想外の３０°Cの暑さの中でランニング選手が非常にいいパフォーマンスできたことは感動的でした。

次は富良野、つまりアイヌの「悪臭のする場所」でしたが、香りはまったく逆で、甘くて新鮮な香りでした。アイヌは悪臭マリファナを吸っていたじゃないでしょか？以前何回富良野へ行こうと考えていたが、池（いけ）なくなって、今回やっと青池へ池（いけ）ました！

それは待つ価値がありました！天気は突然１７°C下がりました。ついに、僕らは北の国にいるように感じました！富良野では、有名なエヴァンス夫婦がランニングトレーニングやバーベキュー場でホストを務め、彼らのおもてなしはトップクラスでした。りかさんとガレスに感謝します！東京の友達のナターシャと盛岡さんにも会えてうれしいです。

ニセコの古い踏み台に戻る途中、北海道の西側にある積丹半島をチェックしました。ニセコ・小樽エリアで数日余分に過ごすなら、素晴らしい景色の良い場所で大すすめです。

ニセコはまたもや北海道のクライマックスでした。アドベンチャーパラダイスでの９日間、エルネストとTITギャングのおかげでたくさんのトライアスロントレーニング。ホワイトウォーターラフティング、ツリートレッキング、日本で一番広大な緑の野原、ニセコは本当にすべてが揃っています。スキーリゾットを見下ろす巨大な羊蹄山は言うまでもありません。恵と僕はハイキング用品を使わずに２年連続で羊蹄山に登りました。それはおそらく僕らがそれをする最後でした！

北海道、僕らはあなたに敬意を表します！来年大好きなビューティフル北海道に戻りたいです。
